Privacy Policy

Northfox Group ("we", "us", "our") operates the MeetUp Now mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your first and last name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text). You may optionally add a phone number, date of birth, gender, a short bio, your interests, and a profile photo.
Location data. With your permission, we collect your device's precise or approximate location to show you meetups happening nearby and to let you set a venue when you create a meetup. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings; some features won't work without it.
Meetups and activity. We store the meetups you create, join, save, or view, your search queries, and category preferences, so we can show you relevant meetups and improve search results.
Messages. We store the direct and group chat messages you send within the App, along with delivery and read status, so conversations sync across your devices.
Photos. Profile photos you upload are stored using Amazon S3, a third-party cloud storage provider.
Device and push notification data. We store a device push token so we can send you notifications (e.g. new messages, meetup updates). We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To show you nearby meetups and connect you with people who share your interests
- To operate chat and notifications
- To maintain safety and respond to reports of abuse or policy violations
- To improve the App's features and reliability
3. What Other Users Can See
Your name, profile photo, bio, and interests are visible to other users. When you join or host a meetup, your participation is visible to other attendees of that meetup. Your exact location is never shown to other users — only meetups near an approximate area are shown.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us run the App, such as Amazon Web Services (cloud hosting and image storage) and Expo (push notification delivery)
- Law enforcement or other parties when required by law, or to protect the safety of our users
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we permanently delete your profile, meetups, and messages within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations.
6. Your Rights
You can review and update most of your profile information directly in the App. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or withdraw consent for location access, by emailing northfox2019@gmail.com. If you are located in India, these rights are provided in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures, including password hashing and encrypted transport, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
MeetUp Now is intended for users aged 13 and older. Because the App facilitates in-person meetups with other users, we encourage parents and guardians to supervise use by teenagers and to review our safety guidance with them. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it.
9. International Users
Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, including where our cloud service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App or by email before they take effect.
